
2023 Gingerbread Competition

Registration is now open for the third annual Gingerbread Competition at the Gresham Historical Society! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY before filling out the form below.
- This year’s theme: CHRISTMAS IN OREGON. Your entry may represent this theme in the form of a building, landmark, event/scene, or landscape.
- Due to space constraints, entries must be no more than 20″ wide, 20″ deep, and 36″ tall. We suggest 1/2″ plywood (or thicker) as a base. Cardboard bases will not be accepted in the professional division.
- Entries must be constructed from edible materials – no non-edible materials may be used other than the base and interior structural supports. Entries may not include electrical or battery-powered components.
- All entries must be delivered and placed by the baker; museum staff are not able to help with placement or repairs.
- Deliveries are by appointment on November 21. We will contact you to schedule an appointment.
- Space is limited to 10 professional entries (open to professional bakers working alone or in teams) and 20 non-professional entries (families, adults, other businesses and groups, etc). Sign up soon to guarantee your spot!
- No pre-formed kits are allowed in the professional division.
- Entries must be removed on December 18 after the awards ceremony. All entries remaining after that date will be discarded.
- A registration ID number will be assigned to you once you have submitted your registration form. This number must be incorporated into your design and clearly displayed in the right front corner of the base. It will be used to identify your entry for visitors voting in the “people’s choice” competition.
- A $25 registration fee is due at the time of registration. The fee can be paid online at this link.

- First place: $1,000
- Second place: $500
